This is one of the most special places I've ever stayed. It's an authentic house in the middle of a historic town. We honestly felt like we were in a movie. Once all the tourists have gone you've got Magome to yourself. The house was really well equipped and we were very well looked after. The wooden onsen looking out onto the mountains was just incredible.
Staff super helpful. They even picked us up from the train station. Just be aware that local food and restaurant options are a bit limited.

The staff were most friendly and enjoyed to make their guests get the most out of the extraordinary experience. They treared their guests as if they all were very special with big smile and full of energy. I strongly recommend. The location cannot be any better to get the full experience.

Assi was a very nice host, and the house was amazing! We were lucky to stay over when we were the only guests, and it remains the best accommodation of our Japan trip. Futons are comfortable, the garden is very pretty, there are many cool and interesting things around the house (for example, some stamps and paper), it is clean and overall very cosy.

The host was very kind and showed me around the house when I arrived. Parking was easy and even though I was only there for a night, it had everything needed for a longer stay.

The property is right in the nature, next to a river/waterfall. Beautiful and serene, the outdoor onsen is overlooking to river and autumn color leaves. The best view one can have. The owner picked us up in the station and sent us back to our hiking starting point the next day. He prepared sumptuous dinner and breakfast for us. We feel like visiting an old friend.
