Very well presented property with fully equipped kitchen (and best supermarket we found in Japan just down the road, a rare opportunity to stock up on fresh fruit and veg).
Plenty of space and balcony for sitting outside. Options for tatami mat or western beds.
Easy for transport just opposite the station, but also easy walk to the wooden bridge.

It was a wonderful experience living in a property that’s about 150 years old. We had the whole property to ourselves, and the facilities provided such as the kitchen and provision of coffee was great. The owner was kind to give us a tour of the property as well.
The owner was so kind by picking us from the sakashita station!

A perfect ryokan, it is everything you want from the rooms, to the onsen with a view on the waterfall, to the excellent dinner, breakfast and the good service by the hosts. It is also a good beginning if you want to travel through the Kiso valley. I would recommend arriving early (16:00-17:00) to
