The hotel was fantastic, with a beautiful and relaxing and quiet environment, overlooking the river and the mountains. They offered tea and coffee during the day at the main reception. The dinner was an amazing experience and having stayed for two nights, there was no repetition of the food, and just the exquisite taste and atmosphere. It snowed while I was there, and bathing together with the falling snow just added to the magic feeling.

Kikori House is beautiful, it is very well designed and impeccably clean. Everything is made out of wood and of top quality. The kitchen is very well equipped. The veranda is a wonderful place to sit. The house was always cool although it was hot outside. No need of air conditioning. The staff of the wood shop next door was extremely helpful and friendly. The owner always communicated immediately with the help of an English translation. We really liked our stay.

It was our first time staying in a ryokan, and it did gave us a really good impression. Property itself was nice, located in a small town beside the river. Room was facing the river so we can hear the soothing noise from the river. Dinner was excellent--food kept on coming, great quality, great variety. They even managed to cater our diet (without pork and alcohol). I love the outdoor onsen. It's very relaxing to soak in the hot water facing the river.

We loved our stay at this charming ryokan. The rooms were spacious and the meals were delicious with plenty of variety and a lovely exposure to local cuisine. Most of the staff spoke English and made many helpful suggestions for what we should see in the area (including arranging for a private hire of a taxi for the day which let us see a lot more int he area in the time we had available).

EVERYTHING!!!! The hotel is stunning! The service was wonderful. The food was amazing (we eat Kosher and no raw fish) and we booked it 2 months in advance after another ryokan couldn't prepare food for us even tho they said they could, and immidiately I;ve got a reply to my request with questions and a will to accomodate us and we really apriciate it. The onsen was a dream (especcially the outdoor one). Our friend had to live after one night in instead of 2 and the person who did our check in was nice and suggested to give her some refund wvwn tho it was same day notice. Will definitly come back again if we have the chance and will recommed it to everyone weknow :)

Everything was exceptional - this was likely the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at! The room was beautiful, the view, the private onsen, it was very cozy! The staff were very welcoming and explained everything to us. The public baths were also so beautiful and relaxing, extremely well-stocked in terms of toiletries and amenities. The food was amazing as well - beautifully served and so very delicious! Couldn't recommend the hotel more!
