Hotels in Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka

Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.

The price included almost anything you would possibly need (ticket for all the town’s onsens, transfer to and from the onsens via car, traditional clothing,..). The hotel dinner was also a worthy experience

Our stay at this ryokan was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and attention to detail. The hotel is stunning, with a beautifully traditional design that exudes charm. As is customary in a ryokan, guests are asked to remove shoes inside, but slippers are provided. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a hot cup of tea, which was a thoughtful touch. When we went out, the staff prepared the futons for us, ensuring everything was ready for a peaceful night’s rest. We opted for the breakfast, and it was both delicious and generous. We also enjoyed sampling the local beers at the hotel’s bar. The onsen, while small, was never crowded during our stay, and I often had the place to myself. I particularly enjoyed the serene outdoor bath. The views from our room were lovely, overlooking the street and river. Next time, I’ll request a room with a view on the forest, as the autumn colors were breathtaking. Every member of the staff was friendly, professional, and eager to help, making us feel incredibly welcomed throughout our stay. We truly had a memorable experience, and we’ll definitely return. The staff is amazing. I also really loved the private baths. It's super close to the station, and the rooms are beautiful. I'd love to stay here again.

Owners are so welcoming and nice. The house is lovely and you have everything you need there. I was sharing a big room only with one other person so it was very nice and I had lot of privacy. And the location is great! Bath houses are just few mins away.

Perfect contrast for our trip to Japan. Polite and competent staff, the private baths were also very fine. Exceptional traditional Japanese breakfast. Onsen pass included. Also transfer from/to the train station. Highly recommend.

The location is beautiful and so serene. The moment we got into the rooms and saw the view out onto the river was just breathtaking. We really enjoyed the food and the staff was really helpful and accommodating to our needs.

We had such an amazing stay with Kobayashiya. The rooms are beautiful and spacious and we highly appreciated the breakfast and dinner that catered to our diets and allergies (one vegan, one gluten). The food was incredible! Shout out to Pam who dressed us in Yukata to stroll around and Reina who made sure our dinner was always perfect.

We spent our honeymoon at sensui and we had an amazing experience! From check-in to check out, everything went smoothly. The ryokan has a moderm twist to it. The rooms are clean and spacious, the service is outstanding. Ayuri even gave us a handwritten letter to congratulate us on our honeymoon :) It's a must to get their dinner kaiseki meal! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Japan :)
