We absolutely loved the kindness of the owners of the ryokan, Kobayashi-san and Mrs Kobayashi. They went out of their way to help us get to and from their ryokan! The ryokan is also impeccably gorgeous, and we got a large room with a private toilet- get this option if you want a larger room! They have one of the most beautiful onsen in Japan, particularly in winter. Also, do get their dinner and breakfast meals! The portions are huge but it’s amazingly delicious - especially the dinner menu. 10/10 will come again.

The owner is remarkably hospitable for example he gives free transport to the snow monkey park. He is very knowledgab;le on the region around Yudanaka -where to eat out, where to ski etc. The hotel and looking after tourists is obviously his passion and not just a job.

Hosts are extremely friendly, drove us to the monkey park and also to the airport after our stay. Room and entire experience was amazing! The home cooked dinner and breakfast were also outstanding. There are two onsens which switch genders at 9pm each night so you can try both, they are extremely nice after a long day out.
