Everything was what we expected for our couple's escape. The bed was astonishingly comfortable and with a classy touch on it. The view of the bedroom was great, you could see the whole city centre. The bathroom and the hot tub were very clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and it could be described as a "melange" of flavours available. From cereal, to fruits and amazing breads available, you could even get your own chocolate milk with the materials they gave you. Also to not forget, that we were received with champagne and homemade cake made by the hotel staff. The staff members were very helpful and welcoming! To summarize 5 out of 5 stars in our humble opinion, can't wait to be back!

A perfect experience; our room was spacious, cozy, and very clean. The kitchen was just perfect for quick meal preparations. Very friendly and helpful staff and awesome location.

The room was excellent - the view, light and spacious. Very comfortable and clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. Nice surprise was too that they offered us a parking spot opposite the hotel (for residents only - free of charge, safe and super convenient) . The rooftop where you can go for a drink is SUPER too. Breakfast nice and with sufficient choice.

Wonderful hotel, the location is right in the old town, close to shops, restaurants and University. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The library decor throughout the hotel is amazing. The room spotlessly clean. Convenient pillows, nice towels, all the necessary amenities. Nice breakfast, coffee, tea and cakes with the view throughout a day was a nice and delicious surprise. Did not want to leave, would love to be back. Definitely recommended.

The room was great, very clean and had everything one needed despite its size. Since i was travelling alone it was perfect, right in the city center 2-10' away from every main attraction of coimbra. 3 ' away from the main square near the river also. I would like to share the experience i had with the host, since i was in coimbra during the power shut down. As soon as she could contact me, she went by the house and left some canned food, supplies and also homemade soup. It was a very touching move and i felt at home.

Located right next to Mondego River in Coimbra, Casas da Alegria features studios and 1-bedroom apartments with free WiFi. The Joanina Library is less than 5 minutes’ walking.

The apartment we stayed in at Casas da Alegria was spacious and comfortable with an amazing balcony. We enjoyed the location, which was close to the parking garage and within easy walking distance to many restaurants and the University. The addition of the washing machine and clothes drying rack was perfect for us as our stay was mid-way through our trip and the clothes dried very well on the sunny balcony during the day. Trying to figure out where we should meet for the parking was a bit confusing. We parked at Olivença Bar and then once we met up with Carlos, it was easy from there. He helped us get into the parking garage (12 euro per night), then helped us wheel our suitcases up to the apartment. We didn't have much luggage or he would have driven the luggage up in the car.
