The Urban Rose Hotel is certainly a 'Rose' in the middle of the City. The staff, as all reviews state, are exceptionally friendly. They stand back and let you use the lift first, they carry your bags, smile and say hello, nothing is too much trouble. They're wonderful and made our four night stay unforgettable. The breakfast was delicious. Each day there were differing varieties of curries and accompaniments. Of course there was a good selection of fresh fruit, toast and cereals or freshly made omelettes. All served with a smile by the ever helpful waiting staff. Our room was large and spacious with a kitchen, sitting room, bedroom, shower and toilet. There were two air-conditioning units and three ceiling fans, so keeping cool was a breeze. The room was clean and serviced each day with all toiletries being replenished as required. The restaurant is, open in the evening and on Saturday night there is an all you can eat buffet. The hotel is well positioned for all the sights of the City and around a half an hour taxi ride from the airport, traffic willing. All in all a great place to stay in Dar es Salaam.

Very friendly staff, good breakfast and generally the food. Very good rooms for the price. A good stay throughout, definitely recommend.

- Babajay is a Very responsive and helpful host. - The family home atmosphere. We were made to feel like visiting family members rather than guests at a hotel. - The 2 bedroom apartment we stayed in was perfect for our family. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. - - Strong and reliable WiFi. - We took the option to have the home cooked dinner and breakfast. This was indeed a good choice. Both meals were amazing. - When we arrived Babajay drove us to a local bar where we had a couple of drinks, then collected us afterwards. He goes that extra mile to help his customers.
