Babalao Bungalow is a hidden GEM 💎 in Nungwi!! Location was everything and more! I had a phenomenal experience from start to finish! Max, the host/owner, went above and beyond...sharing details about restaurants in the area and a thorough description of how to navigate around Nungwi! I'm a solo traveler and I was super super comfortable at Babalao Bungalow! Best of all...I extended my stay and Max was super kind to accommodate me! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was exceptional! I got most of my breakfast packed up to go as most of my days was off site for tours and adventures! Thank you Thank you and Thank you Max and Staff for making this solo trip so memorable 💖 Bonus there is a super cute doggie!

We had a great stay – the staff was always friendly and attentive, everything was very clean, and the stylish interior felt welcoming. The food was delicious and the outdoor area with the pool, volleyball court and table soccer was a real highlight and made the stay even more enjoyable.

Our stay at Kendwa Breeze truly felt like visiting a friend! This small, cozy, and tastefully designed hotel has only four rooms, giving it a very warm atmosphere. The owners, Elizabeth and Alex, along with all the staff, are extremely helpful and friendly. One of the highlights of our visit was definitely Scooby, their dog. The breakfast is big and delicious. While there is a bit of a walk to the beach, it’s manageable if you don’t have mobility difficulties. Kendwa Beach is beautiful and unaffected by the tides, so you can swim all day. There are many water sports available, and Elizabeth kindly helped us arrange them in advance. Highly recommended! 🐾

Situated right on the beach on the quieter side of the island but enough activity to make it interesting. Rooms were nice and big and clean .the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The owner Ahmed was very Hands on.

This is my second time in Africa and my experiences were great again.The owner of the hotel arranged all the tours for us. We had great island tours. We swam with dolphins. We visited turtles on prison island. We went to monkey forests. But what impressed me the most was the one-day safari tour. It was a perfect holiday for us. I will send my parents to this hotel next year!!

We had a wonderful stay at Oasis Blu Beach Resort! Despite some previous reviews mentioning bugs, we didn’t encounter any issues at all—everything was clean and comfortable. The resort is located a bit away from the busy center of Nungwi, which we actually loved. It costs around $25 for a round-trip taxi to the town, but being slightly removed means you get to enjoy a peaceful, almost private stretch of beach with breathtaking views. The hotel itself is quite small—fewer than 20 rooms—which makes it feel intimate and personal. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing, and the staff are truly exceptional. Every single person went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and well cared for. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic escape with outstanding hospitality, this place is a hidden gem!
