Etmissl was a lovely small village to stay in. The people there were all very friendly. We got lucky and stumbled upon a Maypole celebration that was incredible to watch. The meals in the restaurant were spectacular (e.g. wild garlic ravioli with morel mushrooms in a cream sauce or the lake trout on a bed of stinging nettle risotto). We ate there twice in two days. And one of the owners made a point of coming over to us during the Maypole celebration to explain what the tradition was all about for them.

This is an exceptional place: the old house in the garden, tastefully designed modern apartment and very nice owners! And of course, beautiful mountains all around. Next summer we must stay longer. Or even this one :-)

Very nice host! Welcome gift – tasty local specialties! She didn't speak English well so she communicated with us through Google translator. . . Many efforts were made to make our stay comfortable. Everything was as described, great area with trekking paths just around the corner.

Nice, clean and quite modern rooms, very quiet. Very friendly and helpful owner. Breakfast available from a guesthouse next door. Easy to find location, within walking distance to restaurants and supermarket. Great base point for wandering around Steiermark. Will definitely come again!
