I got a very pleasant surprise when I reserved a room at this hotel on the bus to Vidin, a bus ride I took on impulse without a definite plan in mind.. A taxi took me from the bus station to the hotel, and I was pleased to see that overcharging foreigners is not common in this town. I got a warm welcome at the reception, and although not much English was spoken, communication was not impossible and I was made to feel welcome. After collecting my key and entering my room, I got my surprise - my room was in fact and apartment, and a very large and spacious one too! In addition to the bedroom, there is a big living room, and well as two small gardens exclusive to the room. I was very comfortable there, and my planned night became 5 nights, and I didn't want to leave. Everyday I was able to extend my stay, and I was always asked if I needed anything for the room. Needless to say, if I ever find myself in the pleasant town of Vidin in the future, I will reserve a room here again.

The building itself and its surroundings indeed look a bit worn down. But once you get past the entrance (that really looks a bit shady) and you take all your courage and use the elevator up to the 8th floor you are in for a surprise. The apartment is small, but has everything you need. There is so much love in all the details it is impossible to list them all but we felt immediately at home. The space is impeccably clean and features a balcony with a breathtaking view over the Danube river. We'll gladly be back there if in the area.

Good location to visit Vidin, just behind the river walking area. We left early in the morning, and the friendly staff arranged us some sandwiches with fruits and water to be brought with us on the road.
