We were looking for accommodation a little past Drake Bay that was even more remote. The location is exceptional. The rooms are simply furnished. The beach is 50 meters away, the nature surrounding the accommodation, the wonderful family that welcomes you here with authentically homemade dishes. We had an unforgettable experience here for 4 days.

The family that own and run this property are wonderful and so friendly. A local Tico tribe of amazing people! The grounds are beautiful and Toucans and Bats frequent daily! The beach directly below the property is wild and beautiful and we were always the only ones there with fine dark brown sand and patches of shells and small rocks for treasure hunting for the day! I felt more relaxed and inspired after our 5 days and the simplicity of life at this place is the real plus! If you want the Hilton Hotel then this isn’t for you but if you want to decompress, enjoy nature and the people you love then this is the place for you!

This place is amazing. Felt like home. The people, the birds, dinner & breakfast, the rooms, everything is amazing. They helped us with our tours, brought us to our tours with the taxi. Can’t recommend it enough.

Fantastic value, spacious rooms and lovely host. Plus the garden was great to enjoy while sitting in the hammock. Location was great. The shared kitchen was decent.

We took some break from Van Life and this was perfect since you can either camp or have an AC Room. We had the AC Room. WIFI like everywhere, is via Starlink and it works well. We enjoyed the stay 🙂

Some friends recommended the place to us, without a doubt one of our best lodging choices. Carlos and Laura always attentive to what we needed, with additional attention to the cozy accommodation, makes you feel at home. The breakfast was delicious, with beautiful views of nature and we also try the cocktails before taking a swim, definitely recommend to do that! They also have a tour company and they help us book a tour to visit Corcovado. It was beautiful! Really great tour! Thank you very much and we hope to come back soon !

Highly recommend stay at Villa Manolo Ocean and Forest View Hotel , the hotel is run by a delightful really hardworking local family , who all provide exceptional guest/customer service and genuinely care about each guest experience. We stayed in the King Room, very spacious, super clean, everything worked (super cool aircon/fridge, large shower & comfy bed) and outside sitting area/view from the balcony amazing! Evening meals were exceptional (especially the fresh fish/tuna selections) Mrs. Manolo is a wonderful talented chef!! Leading up to our stay I needed assistance on arranging tours, boat trips, taxi etc., communication with Adonis was excellent, everything was taken care of, super-efficiently making our tip and stay at Villa Manolo the highlight of our Costa Rica holiday, as the Villa Manolo Family really made our stay extra special – A big thank you again to you all!! Traveler’s Tip: For ease of travel to Drake Bay, yes people drive but as the road conditions rather challenging, for ease and less stress suggest leave the hire car at Sierpe (there is secure paid parking) and arrange the boat trip 😊 (we were lucky our boat went through the mangroves, so an added bonus!)

We had a really lovely stay at Los Paniquines. The hosts Rafa, Estelle and Ingrid were so warm and welcoming. The little cabin was clean, spacious and comfy and the food and drinks included were absolutely delicious!! They could not do enough to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we need. The location was super fantastic too. Steps from absolutely beautiful Playa Caletas (with loads of other gorgeous, private beaches) along the Drake Bay hiking trail. So happy I came across this spot - it was a much nicer location to stay than staying directly in or north of the bay where we spent a couple more nights. Incredible value too! Go! Enjoy! Pura Vida!

The drive toward Drake Bay is a challenging one and you need 4x4 because of road conditions. We had an SUV and our return was difficult. The cabin is 15 minutes from Drake Bay and easy to reach from there. They booked our tour to Corcovado and Carlos lead the way to the departure point on his motorbike. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of fresh fruit. Carlos and his wife are great hosts. He prepared a suptuous dinner for us, he took us on a hike to waterfalls (real somewhat challenging forest hike, not like Corcovado tour, way better), we swam at the falls. We suggested that a fridge and clothesline would be good additions, and the next day we had both. We had access to a well equipped kitchen. The cabin is new, super clean, simple and on beautiful grounds you can enjoy from your balcony. We truly enjoyed our stay and the special attention given by all.
