We received a warm welcome from Mario. He was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay - on one occasion he arranged an evening meal reservation for us at Rancho Don Luis (they opened up just to accommodate us and the other couple staying at Amazilia). Our room was an adequate size - the wide bed was very comfortable and the shower worked well (though the water wasn't hot). We made very good use of the lovely pool area. The dining area was great and we enjoyed the breakfasts - the cook was also responsible for cleaning the rooms and the property and she did a great job. Amazilia is ideally located for Parque Nacional Rinco de la Vieja - unfortunately, during our stay, the park was closed due to the excessive rainfall Costa Rica had been having. We ate 3 times at nearby Rancho Los Gavilanes - it has a lovely setting by a river.

Borinquen Thermal Resort is located in Rincon de la Vieja. If features Spanish-rustic décor villas, bungalows and Junior Suites, each of them featuring a private balcony with garden views.

Great staff. Very comfortable and well equipped room. Breakfast was delicious - fruit juice, coffee, fruit and a traditional Costa Rican mix with lots of choices. I couldn't have been more pleased

I felt at home from the moment I arrived. The owners are such nice people and they make you feel like family. Wonderful breakfast and I appreciated the availability of dinner being served in the evenings. My room was very comfortable and I had a wonderful stay!

Belkis was exceptionally helpful and friendly. My little room had a comfy bed and two fans, right next to a shared bathroom (one of four bathrooms). The little house is quaintly decorated and the outdoor space, dining room and kitchen are all lovely. Very relaxed place in a great location, close to the bus station and a 20 minute taxi to the airport.

I loved everything about this place. The staff, the food at the restaurant, everything. They can help accommodate whatever special requests you might have and helped me arrange a great guided hike around the volcano. The room was clean and the hammock out front was perfectly shaded for afternoon reading. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, above and beyond expectations.
