Very pleasant highland area stay base with short distances with private car to Poas volcano and La Paz waterfall area. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, some king of personal touch brought to mind old-style country villas in Eastern or Southern Africa - very easy to feel home. Very good birding opportunities on the hotel ground, around the hotel and on the trails. We were sad to leave the place after two nights - it would have been so nice to stay longer.

We were very happy to stay at this lovely small hotel with a beautiful garden and friendly hosts 🌸 The spacious, well-kept garden is wonderful, with funny rabbits freely hopping around🥰 Everything is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious. The hotel is located 7 minutes from the entrance to the nature reserve (Nacional Volcán Poás) so when we landed in San Jose we drove straight to it from the airport. The place is very quiet and the room was very nicely decorated! Unfortunately we stayed at this hotel only one night.

    We have no words to describe the magical experience in the Peace lodge. Amazing views, lovely hottub on the terrace as well as an exceptional bathroom. Access to the resort's La Paz Waterfall Garden is included so you even get to enjoy it outside openinghours and the extensive Garden is on itself already worth a visit. Very clean. Good food on multiple locations. Very helpfull staff. Worth its price, for sure.

    Very cute and functional cottage. Loved the fireplace and the fact that I could stock up on more wood. Nice selection of tasty breakfast options. It is close to both Poas NP & La Paz waterfall.
