The host was really nice. The food was very good and my son loved the dogs. It is a strategic location to visit the volcanoes. We went to Quilotoa, which was not so close, but much better than coming and go from Quito.

Ideal location to start summit to Iliniza Norte or Sur, or just do hiking. Frank, the landlord, is a nice and helpful guy who can rent climbing gear for very affordable prices and provide any sort of advice and sort your problems. Recommend Iliniza Wasi for hikers and climbers.

The staff was exceptionally kind and welcomed me as I entered. She described my stay and everything to expect and treated me like family. The beds were also incredibly comfortable and I slept like a baby, perfect for after hiking Cotapaxi! There are buses heading north to Quito that are very easy to catch (for $1) and it’s also easy to arrange taxis or other transportation to Cotapaxi (15 minutes away) or other mountains/ volcanoes. Highly recommend staying here :)

Staying at this hotel feels like being welcomed home by your family. Great value for money, spacious room with a beautiful view to Cotopaxi and excellent location, just around the corner from the main road with several restaurants nearby, are among its excellent features, but the breakfast stands out for the kindness and care of the lady who will set the buffet and prepare eggs a la carte for you and who will remind you of your grandmother almost inevitably. The hotel manager was just as kind and helpful. I wish we had stayed longer.

Very cosy lodge on the edge of the town Machachi, kept very clean and well-equipped. Very relaxing vibe and so much better value than some of the more well-known lodges in the mountains. Diego and his family are super welcoming. The tour agency that Diego runs also offers tours to cotopaxi and the surrounding mountains so it makes travelling around pretty easy.

A wonderful family run place. The room was large, light and clean. So peaceful too. I was very comfortable and warm with plenty of blankets. The restaurant food was delicious and I ate breakfast with beautiful views. The wood fire keep me cosy and warm in the evenings. The family were so naturally friendly, warm and helpful. I felt very welcome and looked after. Especially by the kind lady who helped me get down to machachi to get my onward bus. What a lovely experience.
