The stay with Vijeesh and his family was awesome! It made our visit in Monroe Island totally worth it. We could go out with a kayak to explore the backwaters and saw all the bueaty of india there! Food with Vijeesh family was always the best, and we always had an awesome time with the other guests. Overall a great experience.

The home stay was just great. I got to stay in the new room with a huge bed and large bathroom. Unni and his family were so welcoming and really made you feel they are super happy that you are there. His mom prepared delicious and authentic home-made Kerala food and Unni took us on a sunrise boat trip which was simply amazing as it was so peaceful and lovely to cruise through the backwaters.

The room is in paradise, surrounded by nature ❤️ after or before the boat tour (we did both sunset and sunrise, both amazing) you can just relax on the porch or around the table outside. We met Vishnu's brother and wife, who were very friendly. His brother did the boat tours and answered all our questions with patience. Also the only place on our trip which had a rubber mop in the bathroom so that the floor was drying right away after showering. Big plus for me :)

The cottage itself was cozy, spotless, and had all the amenities we could ask for, but the real star of the show was the location. The view of the lake from the private garden was absolutely breathtaking, and it was so incredibly peaceful. We spent our mornings sipping coffee and watching the mist rise off the water, and our evenings listening to the gentle sounds of nature. It was the perfect escape from the city. We'll definitely be back!
