Family hotels and homes in Blönduós

We had a family room with a mountain view. I loved the horses in the parks right next to the accommodation, the pictures and drawings of horses all over the walls... It's the perfect place for horse riding (although we found the price for the ride rather expensive, we were delighted to go as a private group). You have a real whirlpool bath with the accomodation (and not just a simple hot bath as sometimes referred to in Iceland as a hot tub). The establishment is spacious and clean. A little away from the main road (N1).

Wow! Voted by our family of five as our best stay in our 14 day tour of Iceland! Extremely lovely cottage, and after our day long F35 Koljur drive, what a welcome suprise we had!!! Lovely owner's, playful dogs greeting us, but mostly ihe best facilities we had, including a washing machine! Book this place, you won't regret!

This really is just a very basic hostel; certainly appropriate for college-aged kids but not for older adults...bunkbeds only. Our biggest complaint was that there were no soaps for the showers. That is the first time I've ever run into that in 40+ years of traveling. The place was just very run down and was obviously not cleaned between guests.

The home-made family style dinner was phenomenal and wonderful way to meet travelers from all over. Our hosts were very hospitable and taught us a lot about Icelandic culture and food.

The group dinner was very fun and social, and the meal was fantastic.

Spacious accommodation for a family. Large kitchen available, with absolutely great equipment. Nearby is a shop, playground, swimming pool with water slides.

Icelandic breakfast awesome. Family style tables encouraged conversations with other guests from other countries. Service excellent yet unobtrusive.
