If you are looking for a uniquely Icelandic experience this is it! On this pastoral farm we were able to unplug and relax for several days. Our modern farm cottage was immaculately clean, well appointed and designed for comfort. The kitchen was ideal for cooking and every view outside is spectacular. With plenty of large windows the views on one side are towards the Vestman Islands and the horses in their pasture. views on the other side is towards Porsmork and Eyafjallajokell glacier. In the evenings I was able to walk in the pasture with the horses who were gentle and curious. Nearby its a short drive to the Vestmannaeyjar Ferry, black sand beaches, Seljalandsfoss, Porsmork, and the town of Hvolsvollur. For fun add an afternoon riding adventure with Hordur - this man’s passion for the Icelandic horses makes this a rare place to stay in Iceland. This was our favorite Icelandic accommodation!

The cottage locates between the Seljalandsfoss and the Skógafoss so we were able to visit both falls twice in two days. The view outside the cottage is also excellent. The cottage is very new and the hosts are very friendly. We can feel that they put lots of effort into this cottage. Highly recommend this place!

I loved absolutely everything about this manor. It was refined-country, cozy, crisp, and sophisticated-for-Iceland without being pretentious or minimalistic. Painted wooden panels, lush couches and beds that you sink into, spacious bathrooms. Beyond the decor being truly attractive, the staff was always smiling and helpful. After a freezing trip under the Seljalandsfoss waterfall's spray, I felt my extremities again in their clean sauna and further rejuvenated in the pool looking directly out into the landscape. Food was delicious with intriguing combinations of tastes. Parking was free and plentiful, access from the main road was simple, yet removed from the fray. I highly recommend this hotel/manor.

A really nice, modern and clean place. We've read earlier reviews that finding the property was apparently hard - I don't think it is relevant anymore, since the property is pretty much there where google maps leads you ("Kvíholmi Apartments"), we've had no problem finding it in the middle of the night. The road that takes you there is a gravel road that's around 2,2km with some relatively flat potholes, we were there with a 4x4 but it is definitely managable with a 2wd. There are horses and sheep nearby, you can see them through the windows. We were very thankful for the wonderful soft bed and pillows, we slept comfortably everyday after a long adventure.

The cabin was adorable! Small but cozy, and had everything we needed! A lot of thought & care went into the planning & implementation of these cabins! Although we didn't do any cooking - the kitchen was well equipped!

We stayed 5 nights (2 adults and 2 children). Very nice layout, with a spacious sleeping loft. Well-equipped kitchen and fresh hygiene area. Clean and neat and comfy bedding. Familiar and pleasant reception. We felt so welcome on the whole farm and got to take part in farm life with cows, chickens, dogs etc. This accommodation is a real gem with genuine Icelandic outdoor adventures within easy reach as well as close to many tourist attractions. Our children cried when we left, we would have liked to stay longer!

We booked online several months in advance as Midguard was geographically in the right place for our Ring Road trip end of day - what a great choice for us! Our teenagers loved it! We had a double and twin ground floor rooms. Enjoyed the decor, atmosphere, bar seating areas and both evening meal and breakfast. Hot tub and sauna were also fun. Friendly attentive staff.

Hidden gem in Iceland near Vik with easy access to nearby sightseeings. Comfortable for a family of 6 esp. kids loving the secret place up there. Very cozy place with nice view of the snow mountain. You have everything to cook, coffee and relax, just bring your own food as not in a town with shops.
