Due to the weather the staff had to advise us on possible road closures. We had to get up early and leave ahead of the possible road closure. The hotel was very helpful in providing breakfast at 5 a.m. for everyone who wanted to leave early to avoid getting stuck due to the possible road closure due to wind and snow. This was a stressful situation but the hotel night clerk was very friendly and helpful, making it all feel less tense. The rooms were nothing fancy but they were clean and functional.

Medium-sized, family-run hotel. Friendly staff. Pleasant, clean, functionally furnished rooms. Average breakfast. There is not much accomodation choice in Skaftafell if you want to make a glacier tour from there.

The location was fantastic. Behind the hotel are some great walks that overlook the glacier. This was worth the stay at the hotel. It was also a basic but functional room. There was a good choice of breakfast options. The beds were comfy.
