Such a charming ryokan with its own hot spring baths, perfectly well maintained, felt at home right away. Very clean and staff very attentive and respectful. Highlight of my trip, and close to many onsens even walking distance (which I did), 5min walk from the bus station. HIGHLY recommend

Very cozy home with the best and friendly host. Always helpful and caring. Very close to the main bus stop Kannawa - 9 minutes away. Laundry and everything was at our ease. We loved the stay as we were the only guest at that time and had the whole house to ourselves.

During our stay at Bettei Haruki, we were delighted by its prime location, just a short walk from some of Beppu’s most beautiful onsens. The ryokan itself offers private onsen facilities, providing a serene and intimate bathing experience. From the time we arrived we were welcomed greatly and was greeted by staff in our native language which took us by surprise. Apparently there are many staff versed in different languages to assist guests from around the world. I was impressed. The room was huge and the amenities were all there, it did not lack anything. I loved that they provided a rubber duck for the kids to play with in the private bath area. The view from our room was great - overlooking the steamy scenery of Beppu. I loved the private bath, we got an indoor and outdoor one, though the outdoor one is very dark at night since there were no lighting probably around the bath probably to protect privacy. The food served for breakfast and dinner were decent. We liked the teppanyaki dinner and the kids meals were delicious.

The villa and maisonette experience was extraordinary, as both properties have unique views. The maisonette has lovely sea view and the villa has a beautiful small Japanese garden. Both properties are very private and the amenities are excellent. Although our stay was expensive in our view, it is worth the experience and we would love to return to this property again. We also love the private onsen which we used day and night and also we enjoyed wearing the traditional yukata and the thick overcoat which kept us warm during the buggy ride to the gahama seikai tower for breakfast. The breakfast spread was also very good. The housekeeper managed to retrieve my ear stud back button when i told them i lost it. Thank you for the wonderful service!

Staffs were very helpful, professional and curteous. We really like our room its very clean, modern ryokan, our private hot spring baths just amazing and the view is stunning. Facilities were great, if we do not have planned itinerary we would prefer just to stay and have onsen all day! The foods were great both breakfast and dinner.

The host is very kind. He patiently explained how to use the facilities in the house. He is thoughtful. On extremely hot days, he prepared iced tea and Popsicle for us. Besides, he even gave us some fresh vegetables he grew. The house is fancy with complete facilities, and there’s space to park 2 cars outside.
