Magical location, charming design, maximum comfort, pleasant, approachable and extremely helpful staff. It was raining - the owner of the place drove us to the train station and beyond that gave us an umbrella as a gift.

Everything was absolutely perfect: the place, the location (although it is a bit further up from the Lake and the main attractions, but there is a bus, so there is no problem getting to places), the staff. I booked the dinner, the breakfast and the private onsen: it was a dream. Everything was absolutely delicious and the onsen was extremely relaxing. The staff is kind and welcoming. If I am ever going back to Hakone, I will definitely stay here again. Also, there is a cute souvenir shop near the reception, I truly suggest to check it out. The ryokan provided a yukata that you can wear on the premises, with instructions that proved very useful, and I thought it was a very nice touch. My biggest regret was not buying it at the souvenir shop mentioned before and not trying the public onsen.

Excellent amenities and services. We were also offered an upgrade to an apartment from our room. We were travelling a lot and use the room only to sleep, bath and relax a little bit after long days. So we have no clue about the restaurants. The parking is sufficient and the hotel is well placed to make trips in the surroundings. We felt very well treated.

The food was exquisite! The room was beautifully traditional with the futon and even has a kotatsu! I was lucky enough to try dinner and breakfast, which were both delicious. I had an unforgettable stay at this incredible ryokan in Japan. From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The hospitality was outstanding – the staff was exceptionally kind, attentive, and professional, always making sure every detail was taken care of. The facilities were flawless, beautifully maintained and offering the true essence of a traditional Japanese experience. The gastronomy was on another level, with every meal carefully prepared and full of flavor – a real culinary journey. They even provided transportation to a nearby museum and kindly took me to the train station afterward, which made everything even more comfortable and seamless. I truly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and high-quality ryokan stay. They were wonderful from beginning to end – thank you for such a memorable experience!

We stayed for 1 night in a Japanese-style room, which was gorgeous: authentic-feeling and spacious, immaculate and with all the amenities you could need. The futons were incredibly comfortable, and the yukata and sleepwear provided were a nice touch. The service was phenomenal, from the moment we arrived. The staff were all incredibly welcoming, thoughtful and helpful, making every effort to make our stay memorable. The private onsen was beautiful and peaceful, the perfect way to relax after a day of sightseeing and activities.

This was an absolutely fantastic experience! This hotel room was the best we’ve stayed in throughout our entire trip to Japan. Don’t be put off by the hotel’s location—there are bus routes just a 3-minute walk away, and an excellent onsen (one of the best in Hakone) is only a 10-minute walk from the property. The hotel building itself is quite old, but the room has a very fresh, modern, and authentic renovation, which we really loved. As for the room itself, it’s incredibly cozy—warm, with perfectly functioning air conditioning, all the necessary kitchen and bathroom amenities, and even a drink bar. The owner has clearly put a lot of effort into maintaining the room’s cleanliness and upkeep—no stray hairs on the floor, no dust, stains, or musty smells. Everything was spotless and comfortable. We also loved the traditional Japanese touches in the room—swords on display (I think they were a katana and a tanto, though I’m no expert) and beautiful traditional women’s garments like yukatas and uchikake, which you can wear for a photoshoot. There’s even a QR code linking to a video on how to properly put them on. The room also offers a stunning view of the mountainside and cherry blossoms—the scenery from the window is absolutely breathtaking, and my wife was completely delighted. The bedding was fresh, warm, and comfortable, and the mattresses were great too. The owner himself is very friendly, responds quickly, and is always ready to help if anything comes up. I highly recommend choosing this room if you’re planning a trip to Hakone and want to enjoy the onsen!

I wish we'd had more time to spend here so we could take advantage of everything on offer. We stayed in Condominium A and it was really spacious. As expected it was in a different building from the hotel proper. We had included breakfast and dinner and they were great. I recommend not getting to breakfast too late or things will have run out. Baby-friendly: The hotel provided a portacot and they even had baby food jars as part of the buffet! They also had a selection of high chairs/ booster seats.

Very baby friendly - high chairs and little kid friendly cutlery and plates in the restaurant, plus a crib in the change rooms and baby seats in the onsen so your little one doesn't crawl away while you wash up.
