I chose this onsen because I wanted to stay in a remote location off the beaten path. The ambiance of the inn is incredible, and the baths are exceptional. This inn felt like a functioning inn from the past - it is rustic, shows signs of wear, and was cold inside in winter due to lack of insulation. It felt like an authentic inn from the past.
