Absolutely wonderful! It was our first time at a ryokan and it exceeded our expectations by a wide margin. The tatami room was fantastic, the atmosphere making you never want to leave. The outdoors onsen was soo relaxing, and open 24/7 so there was no problem having your evening- midnight and early morning bath! We did not have the dinner experience, but the breakfast was absolutely spectacular. Local, seasonal cuisine that tasted divine, set up in a traditional Japanese room. Staff was very helpful, even though they spoke rather limited English, and a shuttle bus picked us up and left us at the bus stop. If you're around Morioka, definitely give this place a visit!

Very nice hotel. The room was larger than most I've stayed at in Japan. The location is good. Walkable from the train station and the surrounding area has plenty of restaurants, shopping and conbini. The castle ruins park and shrine are a 5 minute walk away. No problem communicating in English with the front desk.

This was by far the best hotel in which I have stayed in my multiple trips to Iwate. Amazing customer service, overall cleanliness and amenities. Very short walk from Shiwachuo station. A wonderful and affordable alternative to hotels in Morioka or Hiraizumi. Our booking was for the room only, with a shared bathroom. Still, to our surprise, our room had a spacious toilet. There is also a Japanese bath in the hotel. The breakfast was included in the price, which is a big buffet with lots of variety. Great value for money. An oasis, a little gem.
