We loved the location of Wanakaset Forest glamping right in the heart of the forest which afforded us amazing views of the hills from our balcony room. The food was plentiful and delicious and the ladies in the kitchen incredibly hospitable. We ventured out on a trek with Banda who was passionate and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area. We would highly recommend a stay in this forest sanctuary.

We had a 3 night stay at Ayr Castle, and I would highly recommend it for anyone wishing to travel to relax and spend a few days to rejuvenate. We loved everything about the place. The location was stunning, and our suite was simply perfect for relaxing. The food was really great, with a nice selection of meals. The staff were very hospitable, welcoming, and attentive. The peaceful surroundings and the magnificent scenery were hardly things you would expect from a place just an hour's drive away from Colombo. It was the perfect escape for two people who were wishing for solitude and comfort. I would like to thank the team for making us feeling welcome and giving us an amazing stay!

Really really impressed by Ruwan our host/cook/cleaner/pool attendant and all round good guy! The owner's were often around too and couldn't do enough to make our stay as perfect as possible. The swimming pool is a must in tropical humid sri lanka. What beautiful scenery, what a location. Long way from anywhere, so prepare to relax, soak in the abundant nature and read your book ... maybe bring some cards? The daily firefly evening display was spectacular, making the trees glitter like christmas trees ... laze in the pool and look up! In the days it's the eagles with their aerial display, lizards and of course the 'hoppity birds', woodpecker & kingfisher's, coming to assess the suitability of the guests. Swimming in the local river was nice, bit of a shame about the spontaneous viewing gallery though.

Beautiful mansion in the middle of greenery with centennial trees overshading the house and pool. Perfect location for digital detox: no TV, no A/C, but the nature sounds and cooling canopy provide for better views, sounds and breeze. The swimming pool and adjacent patio are awesome for after dips and drinks. Just bear in mind to bring mosquito repellent as in all locations in this area.

An exceptional place. Amazing views of the river and Forrest. Our host made our stay even more special. His cooking was incredible and authentic, teaching us about the ingredients and how they are sourced locally. A highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka.

Hemantha, the owner and manager of hotel and his son Dulana have built a truly beautiful pearl in the middle of the rainforest. With excellent English, they took care of us and fulfilled all our wishes. This is our fifth time in Sri Lanka, but we visited Kitulgala for the first time during our travels and I can recommend this area to everyone to visit. Waterfalls in the middle of the forest and rafting on the river are among the great experiences that this hotel offers you at a very fair price. And then you can let yourself be pampered in the comfort of the hotel with great food and enjoy a bath in the beautiful natural pool or right in the small clean river that flows around the hotel.
