Amazing place, two bungalows near by the incredible swimming pool ! 🏊🏻‍♂️ Everything is clean, the staff is lovely, the food was delicious, home made cooking and the portions were huge ! 😋 Nice location if you want to do the safari, they arrange the safari for us, you don’t have to stress your mind. We will come back, a little heaven between the sugar can fields 🥰

From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. Janik and his mother Schwarna are lovely people who really care about their guests. Nothing is too much trouble and we were very grateful to Janik for arranging transport to and from Amba Kola for us. Schwarna is a talented cook and we really enjoyed her cookery class - and of course eating the delicious Sri Lankan food she taught us to make! We also particularly appreciated the large comfortable bed and superb pillows!

Charming hotel set with view directly into the jungle. Very friendly atmosphere. The team working there really stood out in service. It felt like a family hotel where all guests were given extra attention. The hotel arranged the safari which was great. We got offered a guide on the tour which we can recommend- very knowledgeable. Our stay at this safari lodge was truly unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our experience special. Damith, the chef, and the helper were absolutely outstanding — attentive, warm, and always ready to make every moment magical. Honestly, this place would not be perfect without them. The food was a highlight: traditional, organic, and served beautifully under lantern light by the bonfire, creating such an authentic atmosphere. We especially loved the night walk, which was both fun and informative for us and our son. A special mention to Damith for arranging a masseur — having a massage every evening outside our tent, surrounded by nature, was pure bliss! Family of 4 stayed for one night. Excellent stay for the price we paid. Location and service is really good. It is a very nice and basic hotel that ticks all the boxes. We did 2 safaris, one in the afternoon and one in the morning and our guide, Shanaka Pradeep, was excellent. Very knowledgably and had an incredible eye to find animals. We saw loads of elephants, crocodiles, peacocks, water buffalos and exotic birds. We did also do the elephant orphanage, but I wouldn't rate that too high.
