What a wonderful place and a great adventure. We love the location, the little house is super clean, no mosquitoes and the best natural swimming pool. The food is amazing and the owners very sweet and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it to the moon and back. Highly recommended. Also the organized guided tours delivered more than we could hope for.

The view from our patio was breath taking, and the glass doors looking out at the view made it even more special, because it feels like you are close to the jungle even indoors. You get to see several species of birds right from there in the mornings. Saman, our host was very accommodating and his brother Pradeep took us on our jungle tour and we had a great time. There’s a hotel close by where you can pay to use the pool as well.

The setting is extraordinary. It’s a 10min walk up the hill but it is worth it. The views are fantastic. The bungalow was wonderful with lots of interesting details. The service and hospitality were amazing. The food was great (the portions are huge!). Thank you for the interesting conversations and hopefully we (or at least one of our children) will meet again!

I'm a wildlife Photographer and I've been seeing Hemal as guide for several years now. He recently renovated the place as a guest house and it is fantastic. The place: The room was clean, AC and facilities are brand new and the view is exceptional! It is located a beautiful 10 minute walk from the park entrance, surrounded by green. And is directly next to the path that you would take for a night tour, which is a must in Sinharaja (And nobody is allowed to enter the Park at night). Hemal's wife is cooking and I doubt any of the luxury hotels near by will match the love and effort she put in every single meal. As it is common for Sri Lankan hospitality, they will always ask you if anything is missing or you have any special wishes and will drive to the nearest shop to buy it, without asking. The guide (Which is much more important in Sinharaja!): Hemal is known within the entire community as one who spots the most animals and knows so much about them. While all guides need to absolve basic training to become a guide, you can tell that he is truly passionate about the nature and he will tell you the English, Latin and partly the German names for most of the animals that we saw. You can also tell that he deeply respects the animals and the eco system and puts safety of you and the animals above anything. He grew up right in that village and he's is in the forest every day even on his days off so he always knows all the best spots!

    This was an amazing stay with our family (2adults, 3 kids of 6, 8 and 11) in our room in the middle of the jungle, with a view on the waterfall where you could also swim in. A 10/10. Janith, Maneesha and team were such friendly and helpfull hosts. The true Srilanka food and drinks was prepared with much care and was delicious. (And for our Dutch stomachs safe to eat :) ) And the rainforest hike was super, with Janith being such a good guide, spotting snakes, lizards, monkeys, spiders etc. 100% recommended!

    I highly recommend this place! It's easily one of the most beautiful spots in Sri Lanka. Vini, his wife, and their children welcome you with incredible warmth. Every moment here was delightful: the abundant delicious food, swimming in the river, the breathtaking green surroundings, and the fantastic rainforest tours led by Vini. Looking forward to returning soon.

    We have had an excellent time: friendly family, beautiful view, good food (especially the local dishes), nice pool, large rooms and very close to the entrance of the rainforest. We als had a great guided day in the forest and did a night walk. We saw lots of animals, plants and trees and took a dip in the water at the waterfall. Highly recommended!

    Located right next to the river. Absolutely beautiful. It is run by a friendly local family, and they did provide fantastic service that did exceed our expectations. The food was excellent, and we got traditional Sri Lankan tastes that we were looking for. We would have stayed a few more days if our schedule allowed.

    I would like to thank everyone. The rooms are very clean. The food is very good. The staff is polite and friendly. Special mention should be made to Mr. Sarath, when my car broke down, he helped me a lot to fix it. They looked after us like family members. If you are going to visit the Sinharaja forest, I highly recommend the hotel.

    We travelled as a family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 children (13 & 11) - An amazing host who took us on a guided tour of the rainforest including a waterfall where we could swim - breathtaking! Fantastic food for breakfast lunch and dinner. The family room overlooked the rainforest and was very comfortable .
