The accommodation was perfect. There was nothing to complain about. The rooms were very high-quality, very clean and well-maintained, and lovingly furnished. Breakfast was delicious, freshly prepared, and served on the rooftop terrace with a beautiful view. The host was very kind and attentive. The staff member Mahil is the nicest person we met in Sri Lanka and always provided excellent service! Overall, it was a 10/10, and the price-performance ratio is great. We would gladly come again—clear recommendation!

Where do we start?! We were welcomed to Villa Janaliya by the whole family. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was all we wanted. We have found this to be the general rule for Sri Lankan hospitality, but at Villa Janaliya; it was another level again. Nothing was too much trouble. They helped us book days out, get the best prices, gave guidance about where to go and what to eat. They were responsive, spoke excellent English and the entire family were super kind and helpful. We had countless lessons in Sri Lankan cuisine and were given some wonderful meals, which has encouraged us to go on and start to learn about cooking Sri Lankan food for ourselves. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. It is a 5 minute walk from the beach, which have a selection of restaurants and bars. There are small shops close by for essentials and a train and bus stop within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The nearby towns of Bentota and Aluthgama are easy to get to on the bus or train, they are busy and bustling. The family also own the adjacent hotel, which has a gorgeous pool and well equipped, air conditioned gym, which we had access to and used most days. We cannot recommend Villa Janaliya highly enough, we're already looking forward to returning. Thank you.

Had a really lovely , quiet 4 night stay here. The family are lovely , the lady is a great cook ,( we are vegetarian)massive breakfasts!) I'd hurt my wrist prior to arrival and they helped with that too, a bandage and assistance from their neighbour( thanks moyra) They are kind and honest people . Garden is nice for hanging out in too, with birds, chipmunks and a resident ginger mongoose ! .beach is just 5 min walk away ( go through at sea view restaurant) Nice comfy bed with Airton and a fan. Lovely hosts, you tell what you need, they fix it or at least advise you honestly. For extra services like lunch or tuk tuk or beer, they charge the fair price. If you have a question, or worry, feel free to let them know. We were traveling with 2 children : 2yr and 4yr old and we felt super taken care of 🤗 beach is just behind the property, place is quiet. The staff were incredible, going out of their way to ensure we had a great time and everything we wanted. Property is a bit of a walk from the beach, with a rural outlook. But our hosts drove us where we wanted via tuktuk so it was no hassle. Peaceful and quiet where you can see buffalo, monkeys, fish eagles etc. Nice pool that the kids loved.

A beautiful boutique style hotel with beautiful clean rooms and comfortable beds, a luxurious bathroom and a chef who makes delicious food. Very friendly, attentive, helpful, hardworking staff who will go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need. I couldn’t find Nutella in the shops at any of the previous hotels we stayed in. When tree of life contacted me to remind me of my booking I asked them did they know where I could find Nutella anywhere in Sri Lanka. Within one hour the hotel bought it and had it ready for my daughter on her arrival. THis kind gesture made her whole trip. Great job!!!

Located close to the beach, the homestay is very welcoming and has a beautiful garden where one can sit and relax. The rooms were clear, equipped with kettle and fridge and very comfortable. Would highly recommend the place. The host is very helpful and prepared a very good breakfast for.us.
