We couldn't find anywhere to stay in the town we ended up in at sunset, so found the nest on booking.com. The owner was so friendly and very accommodating, staying up for a late check in and ensuring we had dinner on arrival. Our room was comfortable and close to town. We also heard elephants nearby. Plenty of space for parking our tuk tuk onsite as well.

As part of our Sri Lankan tour, we arrived on 07/07/2025, and from the moment we stepped into this peaceful retreat, we felt completely at home. We requested a guided hike, a nature walk, and an educational tour focused on the rich flora and fauna of the Knuckles region—and the team delivered beyond our expectations. Every experience was thoughtfully curated, offering the perfect balance of adventure and insight. The infinity pool with its breathtaking mountain views quickly became our favorite spot to relax. The authentic Sri Lankan meals were a true culinary delight, bursting with flavor and tradition. One of the most memorable evenings was spent by the crackling bonfire, enjoying a delicious BBQ dinner under the stars—pure magic! Thank you to the wonderful hosts at Royal Mountain Edge for creating such a warm, welcoming, and unforgettable experience. It’s an amazing spot for a perfect getaway with plenty of nearby attractions like the Pettigala mountain hike and Victoria Reservoir viewpoint to explore. The Albatross is love letter to golfing. All the decor is lovingly curated to speak to the golfer's soul. We had a beautiful room which offered breathtaking views of the scenery. You will be spoilt for choice with the extensive menu, and be prepared to find your clothes fitting a little more snugly because you will enjoy all the delicious meals.
