The host Aziz was a wonderful host. He took me to the Oasis and Chigaga Erg. He also arranged for my return taxi which was extremely helpfu.l He made my desert adventure a very memorable one. Chef Barack is a very kind person who makes delicious vegan food. I highly recommend this property.

Abdoul was very accommodating. He gave directions to the camp. He made arangements to stay closes to the town for the Nomad festival thus I didn't stay at the camp, so I can't comment on the camp itself. However, I can comment on the friendly welcome I received from Abdoul. Thank you

As agreed, Ali waited for us in the center of M'hamida, where we parked the vehicle in a secured parking lot for 20 MAD per night. The jeep ride through the desert takes 1.5 hours (€90 for the jeep). After an interesting drive, we arrive at a beautiful small family camp run by Mohamed together with Ali. There are 4 tents and 3 bivouacs in the camp, which makes for a family-friendly atmosphere. Tea and snacks await you. Then we walk along the wonderful surrounding dunes. This is followed by an excursion with camels into the sunset organized by Mohamed (€15 pp/h). After the trip was a fantastic dinner from chef Ali, who prepared the best soup of our entire trip, and the tajine was also superb. Followed by stargazing and hanging out by the camp fire. In the morning, a pleasant simple breakfast and departure from the camp. . Thanks to Mohamed, Ali and the team for a wonderful day and night in a real desert. We recommend it to everyone who wants an authentic experience.

We liked our stay at Dar M’hamid very much. It is great value for money. The rooms were cosy and nicely decorated, and the food that we had for diner was delicious (the chicken tajine and tajine kefta f.e. were cooked to perfection). Omar, our host, also invited us on a tour through the hamada and sand desert and to Erg Chigaga. He took us along an oasis, and we even went fossil hunting with my seven year old sun. At arrival near the Erg, he served us a hot lunch. Everything was arranged with perfection and great attention to his guests. We’ll be back one time if we are lucky!

We enjoyed our stay at Nomads Heaven Camp very much. Moloud is a very experienced host and guide, very proficient in different languages. Very friendly! Food was good and typical moroccon dishes for breakfast and dinner. Everything was reasonably priced. It was very quiet, approximately 6 km from Mhamid. You live in tent-like clay buildings. It was rather warm inside during the night. So we did not need warmer clothes inside. You can walk 200-300 m and you enter an area with smaller dunes with super fine sand. We just sat there and enjoyed a sunset and sunrise there. So it is "desert experience light". Be aware that the real desert with the big 100m high dunes is 60 km/ 2h away. Moloud could have organized a tour by 4x4 and/or camel. But that would have taken us more time, also one person had health issues. So ideally you spend 2-3 days. And stay in the "real" desert overnight.

Highly recommend Erg Chigaga camp shooting star Once-in-a-lifetime experience: We stayed in the desert for two days and had an absolute blast. Everything was very well organized. We took a camel ride in the morning for sunrise, and after that, we went for a day trip to nomadic families and met a Nomad family. The staff was very friendly to us, and nothing was a problem. The evening was amazing because the whole camp danced together to the sounds of nomadic music around the fire. I can't wait back again ! Thank you Ahmed and Aziz

This is by far the best thing that we have done in Morocco and the best thing we have done as a family of four to date. Younes and his team were the most exceptional hosts. He contacted us way before the trip via WhatsApp to ensure that everything was in place. His team were calm and understanding with our 3 year old and 9 month old. It's cold at night as we were there in December. But we had anticipated this and brought sleeping bag for our toddler and a snow suit for the baby. Desert camping was a dream as a family
