The host Christine was super friendly and helpful. She showed us how to use the short 4 min bush walk from our back door to the beach. She even popped a hot water bottle in the bed while we popped down to the beach. Lovely place, nice and private. Beautiful sunny morning deck with lovely birdsong. Would totally recommend.

They really understate this property. The Ruru apartment is enormous, fully equipped and absolutely gorgeous. She is an artist (the studio is on site) and it shows in the decor. The grounds are beautiful. We had dinner and breakfast on the lawn overlooking the sea. It is essentially at the door of gorgeous Tawharanui regional park.

I liked that this room was off the beaten path. The view from our bedroom was amazing! A heron likes to wander around the garden and made it extra special. Our host provided us with everything we needed and gave us some suggestions on what to do.

Such a lovely place to stay, beautifully designed and decorated, and of course the bathtub on the terrace was a highlight. We also enjoyed the very good restaurant and brewery just across the street. Overall we had a wonderful, relaxing time.
