Good directions to find. Easy access to property. Amazing setup, everything well set out and explained. Huge comfortable bed, good size bedding. Furniture all round good comfortable choices. Great inside and outside kitchens, very well equipped. Beautifully clean and spacious. Everything automated, lighting inside and out excellent for ambience and practicality. Great swivel TV. Beautiful bathroom. Great courtyard and splashpool. Attentive host. Centrally located. Lots of dining choices close by. Bowl with snacks and extra water lovely touch. Feels like everything was thought of and very well thought out!!! Good aircon for heat or cooling.

Everything about this property is amazing. The location, facilities, outside area, space, views, cutlery, rooms, bathrooms and indoor space were more than expected. The owner and manager were very friendly and easily contactable. Highly recommended, we will definitely go back again and again.

Wow, incredible Villa, extremely well put together place with some lovely touches. Very clean, great communication, incredible location. 10/10 across the board. 1st day in there felt like you were discovering a new awesome feature/view of the villa everytime you looked somewhere in a different direction. The layout, the decor, tge fixtures and fittings all top notch. There was someone able to be at the villa in under 5 mins if you needed anything as well. Highly recommend for a trip up the mountains.

It's impossible not to like the place. It's the authentic Omani village house (well - with appropriate and very delicate modern improvements). The interior is super cosy, superior for your hygge moments in fact! The terrace view is breathtaking. Location is the best possible on the Saiq plateau. It's in the start of hiking trail, and also next to Anantara with its Diana viewpoint. And most importantly - the owner, Ahmed, was superhelpful and always in touch with us. He helped with the transfer up and down to Nizwa and took care of every moment of our stay. Many thanks for that!

This is one of the world's most remarkable properties. A number of years ago, the Omani government for the first time built road to the remote 500-year-old village of the Suwgra on Jabar Al Akhdar, relocating the village to the other side of a ravine. The villagers decided to save the heritage of their village, by converting it into visitor accomodation. You reach it by walking the final 500 meters or so through the ravine, while your luggage is winched across by a pulley. Once there, everything has been done to a very high standard. There are only eleven units, clinging to the side of a cliff on the mountaintop. Accomodation is simple, but beautifully so. Everything is done with evident pride. You are not simply a guest in the Suwgra; you are sharing a heritage of which its stewards are justly proud. At night, the valley is utterly silent, apart from the occasional barking of mountain foxes or wild donkeys. In the day time, there is a marvellous trek around the side of the mountain, with good way-markers. This is not just accomodation: it is a life experience.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort, the highest five star resort in the middle east on the curving rim of a great canyon, is a secluded haven for the intrepid and discerning.
