The host was very welcoming. The apartment was clean, tastefully decored. No complaints from the kids. All in all a really really good value for money.

the oppertuniry of offering bicycles to their guests (free of charge - very important note) is big win! park the car in their garage and you’re a bikes distance to sny where within the city center. that was a deal breaker for me during my stay at least.

Great accomodation, very reccomended. Arrived by car : there is a private garage in front of the Hotel with a specific tariff for hotel guests; there is also a public open-air parking in the nearby which is cheaper (I used EasyPark app to pay). Perfect room and private bathroom. Great buffet at breakfast, and also the dinner (included in the room price) was great.

This hotel dates back to the 19th century and enjoys a waterfront location. The Stora Torget square is within 100 metres, while Karlstad Central Station is a 5-minute walk away.

An exceptional stay! Amazing meals, fresh and delicious. Breakfast, dinner, and “Fika” were included. Situated in the heart of Karlstad, the hotel and many sites are accessible by bus or on foot. The staff were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. If I’m back in Karlstad this is the only place I’ll stay!

Home Hotel Bilan is housed in a former county prison, 50 metres from Drottninggatan shopping street in Karlstad. It offers a private prison museum and rooms with free WiFi.

The location is very convenient to the station, the room was quiet (those prison walls), and everything was very comfortable. Best of all, the breakfast and dinner provided as half board were totally delicious and substantial and served on a restaurant-style dining room.

Honestly, I didn't expect much from the dated and unremarkable exterior, but we quickly found that you can't judge a book by its cover: This is one of the best mid-priced hotels I've stayed in. The stylish, cozy interior, plentiful amenities, delicious breakfast, special accommodations for pets and children, and beautiful Klarälven setting of this Scandic places it among the top-tier. In my experience, this hotel is superior to some of the fancier ones in the center of the city. On thing that really sets Scandic hotels apart, generally, is the breakfast: we very much appreciated the fresh-cut fruit and melons, diverse yogurt selection, Swedish pancakes, and classic (but unusual) things like nyponsoppa. Another is the fabulous family-rooms (with fold-down children's bunkbeds). And the thoughtful accommodation for pets, complete with a bed, bowl, and even treats. Scandic gets it for families on the road!
