Good choice of breakfasts, located on beach. Attentive staff.

I could honestly write a 10-page article in praise of Shanuo. Firstly, yes. It’s every bit as beautiful as the pictures would have you believe. (With that said, there’s no way to truly capture the beauty of this place through a camera lens. You just have to go there to see that for yourself). Surrounded by coconut trees and brightly coloured tropical flowers, the bungalows overlook the Indian Ocean - a morning dip is a must! My room was clean and comfortable and I was provided with everything I might need during my stay. Although Shanuo doesn’t have its own restaurant, I can honestly say this has no impact on your stay at all. The breakfasts are generous and Shanuo provides drinks and snacks (at a small fee) if you’re feeling peckish. There are several neighbouring properties along the beach with restaurants. I promise you won’t go hungry! Secondly, the staff are incredibly accommodating and helpful, and you’re guaranteed to be met with a friendly smile and an enthusiastic “Jambo” 100% of the time. If you need anything, you just need to look up and someone is there to assist. A big thank you to everyone at Shanuo, but especially to Na who brought my breakfast every morning and who I had lovely chats with, to Daniel who cut copious amounts of fresh aloe vera to tend my sun burn, and of course to the manager, Gillian, who is energetic, friendly and builds meaningful connections with her guests which she uses to tailor her travel tips especially to your needs. This team creates an atmosphere that truly makes you feel as though you’re ‘coming home’. There’s so much more that I could say, but anyone reading this will begin to think I’m exaggerating. I’m really not. Do yourself a favour and just book! I’ll certainly be coming back here on my next Zanzibar adventure.

The hotel and staff were simply amazing. They went out of their way to accommodate us, even to the extent of buying something we needed from Stone Town (1:30h away) and bringing it to us at the hotel. Also, the food was really good! We enjoyed local seafood and drinks. The room was amazing; we had a free update to a Seaview room! The beach in front is super beautiful as well. Overall very private, quality hotel; not a touristic one at all. It felt like being at home. We can't wait to be back.

We highly recommend Mpole Bungalows, this undiscovered gem in Michimvi beach. The people are friendly, helpful and very attentive, willing to make your stay very pleasant and enjoyable. They are a great team! The place is also perfectly located at few steps from the beach, which gives you two amazing different sceneries in high and low tide, where you can have a beautiful walk, explore, swim or even do other activities. Chilling in the space you can jump in the pool which is clean and well maintained, or lay down in the bed swings under the shades. From the start, arrival, breakfasts, to the end, even helping you to organize transport, you’ll be feeling in paradise and well taken care of.

The hotel was modern, clean, great service and staff. We felt at home there, complete privacy from the surroundings. I would also like to thank Sherly for her helpfulness and willingness. Thank you and greetings from Prague :)

Bedrooms with AC and seaview! Right on the beach with private swimming pool and sunbed. Good restaurant good food. Delicious breakfast. 5minutes walk on the beach to reach TheRock restaurant. We really appreciated the staff of this hotel! They was nice polite and happy people. Michael helps us on our late check in at 01am in the night , he provide us everything, information and also a lighther who i asked . ASANTE SANA

Exceptional place to stay. The facilities - swimming pool, bar and restaurant were all first class. Food was delicious. Best of all was the wonderful welcome and hospitality shown by the fantastic owners Petra and Thomas. They went way beyond what one could expect to make sure my stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Highly recommended

Very nice helpful host. Very good location. And the beach in this part of island is the best because it is quiet. We strongly recommend.
