The people who run this lovely homestay was one of the best I’ve ever encountered in the entire world. Upon arrival I was provided a generous full course dinner (don’t miss their ostrich steak!). The accommodation was a bit old but in perfect condition and comfortable. The optional farm tour, which starts at 7.30am, was definitely a highlight of my stay, where you can get really close with the ostriches and see the springboks. All I can say is if you pass by the area, stay there. You won’t regret it!

I loved the place, and the view was breathtaking. The retreat is truly perfect for relaxation and spending a wonderful day away from the city. Everything is available in the villa except for food, so make sure to bring your own. I forgot to bring food, but Chris was amazing — he sent us a restaurant menu, and we ordered pizza, which he personally went to pick up for us. Chris also took us on a drive along the river, sharing stories about the place. At the end of the day, we sat together, chatting and sharing stories, while he played music for us around the fire.

We booked the two rooms they offer. Belinda the host was exceptional. The chalet room was a great size with kitchen and living room. The bungalow is quite a bit smaller with the kitchen area outside. The overall experience was excellent. Like the posting notes as well, it is on a highway so it does have some road noise but not bad at all. Highly recommend this as a good overnight option for travelling to from Capetown..
