Just across the street from the train station and a very short walk catty-corner to the ferry terminals. The staff was terrific, both in the hotel and restaurant, and did everything possible to make us feel like honored guests. An extra touch was free coffee/tea/snacks/ice cream and as much bottled water as we wanted. One of our favorite hotels on our 3-month trip.

Quiet location and very comfortable beds and linen so we slept extremely well. Front desk staff were so kind and helpful and recommended a really good restaurant- the best Okonomiyaki we have had in Japan. Super easy check out at 7.15am. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! Highlight of my trip, I wish we stayed 2 nights not just one. Great hospitality and wonderful facilities. Personally the futon was very comfortable since I prefer harder matress. A 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal, very close to the main attractions.

Air-conditioned rooms feature a seating area, a TV with satellite channels and an air cleaner. They come with an en suite bathroom and complimentary green tea. Only stayed 1 night before a flight out and it was absolutely perfect. Between the free shuttle to the airport and the amazing breakfast, it was everything I needed. The room was very clean and had everything that was needed for a great night of sleep before heading home.

Only a 5-minute drive from Miyajima Ferry Port with its free shuttle, beautiful ocean views can be enjoyed from Miyajima Seaside Hotel. The hotel features a public bath, a karaoke room and free WiFi at the lobby. The omotenashi - the spirit of Japanese hospitality - was just incredible. Thank you to absolutely every member of the staff who made our stay so enjoyable. Person who picked us up in a shuttle, people at the front desk, people who served dinner and breakfast. Simply wonderful. The meals were generous and delicious. Hotel itself is nostalgic retro style. View is beautiful. Public baths are clean and relaxing.

Jukeiso features Japanese-style rooms overlooking the majestic entrance gate (Torii) of Itsukushima-jinja Shrine, only a 5-minute walk from the Unesco World Heritage Site itself. The hotel offers public and private hot baths and a free shuttle to/from Miyajima Ferry Terminal. Free Wi-Fi is provided at the lobby. Great place, staff was friendly and always willing to help.

Combining modern design with a homely decor, Kikunoya Hotel offers both Western and Japanese-style rooms. Entertainment options include cable channels and a DVD player. Certain rooms include an en suite bathroom. Toiletries and slippers are provided for in the private and shared bathroom. Great location, a pleasant 7 minutes walk from Shrine and ropeway. The last 1 minute is uphill but not onerous at all. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. They also spoke English. Amazing indoor and outdoor onsen which we made full use of. Big comfortable room with kettle and TV (YouTube app available). Enjoyed the Japanese meal and breakfast (food plentiful, make sure you arrive extremely hungry). Their slogan is “Your home in Miyajima” and it’s so true. So comfortable and they provide everything including yukatas. You could literally just turn up with a change of underwear and everything else is pretty much available (toothbrush, hairbrush, toner & moisturiser in the onsen bathroom).
