The property features mountain and garden views, and is 7.9 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. The guest house provides rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. Amazing hotel! We loved the cozy lounge with the fireplace and the thoughtfully prepared dinners. The ryokan room we stayed in was big and comfortable with a lovely view of the zen garden. The private onsen was a great way to relax and warm up since we were there in Feb. The location seemed a little far at first because it is a 15 min walk (or short bus) from Gora Station but it ended up being perfect. The hotel is near 4 bus lines so actually allowed us to get around to our hiking destinations, odowara station and the open air museum easily.

Boasting rare nigori-yu milky water hot spring baths and , Mount View Hakone offers Japanese-style rooms and Japanese delicacies. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, and free parking is available on site. Japanese-style massage can be arranged at a fee. All in all probably the best place we were in while traveling in Japan. You get yukata to walk around, very peaceful environment in the middle of the mountains, super friendly staff, room was spacious and clean. We had breakfast + dinner combo, which was typical Kaiseki with many different things. Just be prepared - it's A LOT of food (both). We skipped lunch while we stayed there. We tried one of the private onsen which was one of the best we tried. Room had a toilet but no bathroom, so you shower in the public onsen (typical of Ryokan w/ onsen for the unware). There's a Lawson super close, which is handy.

Hakone
Opened in 1878, The Fujiya Hotel features Meiji Era architecture set in Hakone’s natural beauty. Just 500 metres from Miyanoshita Station, it offers indoor and outdoor pools, a spa and a restaurant in a converted Imperial Villa called Kikka-so Inn. Rooms feature bathtubs with natural hot-spring water. Excellent amenities and services. We were also offered an upgrade to an apartment from our room. We were travelling a lot and use the room only to sleep, bath and relax a little bit after long days. So we have no clue about the restaurants. The parking is sufficient and the hotel is well placed to make trips in the surroundings. We felt very well treated.

The helpful staff (who managed to bear with my broken Japanese and switched to fluent English whenever necessary), the idyllic location, modern facilities and the hugely atmospheric setting.

Kamakura
Offering river views, Children's cafe B&B Kimie is an accommodation located in Kamakura, less than 1 km from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and 20 km from Sankeien. It is situated 22 km from Yokohama Marine Tower and provides a shared kitchen. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a terrace. ABSOLUTELY WOULD GO BACK ! The house is lovely, my room had a balcony which was so nice to be able to open the door and hear the water below and the wind in the trees at night. The bed was very comfortable and I had AC. The house shakes a little when a big truck passes by, but honestly it’s not that bad, it’s just the quirk of an old house. The bathrooms are shared which wasn’t an issue even with other guests, even the big shower room was always free when I needed it. There’s a communal room downstairs and a communal balcony too. The host was great, always ready to help if needs be and her breakfast were absolutely delicious 😋 I would have stayed a whole month just to have her cooking on the morning. Be advice it is traditional Japanese breakfast with fish and side dishes. I loved it and couldn’t recommend it enough, such a nice home cook meal to start the day. The location was easy to find, you can walk around to see multiple temples and shrines. There’s a street with street foods and restaurant 15 min walk away which I was on every night 😊 it was very easy to get to the seaside from Kamakura station and than to take the electric “classic” tramway. Just be aware that a lot of commerce and the railway close early, so planned your day accordingly. All in all I spent a lovely weekend at the B&B and would gladly go back again.

hotel is next to bus stop. hotel facility is new and clean. very cosy for family vacation.
We were a family with 4 adults and a child that stayed here and the apartment was spacious enough. It was well equipped and even had mobile chargers. The host answered our questions promptly and was genuinely helpful regarding our baggage arriving by post. The futon mattresses here were much more comfortable than some of the other places we stayed in Japan. Hayakawa station that has connections to Odawara was a short walk from here.
Great room with modern tatami style sleeping set up that the kids loved. On-site onsen is great too - you can book a private slot for just your family to use, so they don't mind if you have tattoos! The breakfast and drinks at the common lounge are also great, as is the view out. Bonus points for the shuttle in the morning to Gora Station.
We are travelling in Japan with 2 adults and 4 children. This site is in an amazing location and very cool and funky apartment. We loved our stay and the accommodation and location of Hakone was a real highlight and loved by all the family. I would absolutely return to this accommodation again.
We were a family of 2 adults & 2 children and having a whole house is super spacious. The living room and kitchen is right beside each other, so we can all gather in the same area and keep a look out for the kids. There is a convenience store right before turning deep into the road leading up to the apartment, so you can grab some last minute stuffs if you would like.
We liked the beautiful Japanese rooms and the free family baths (not onsen, but helpful when trying to bathe 2 children and a baby!) The staff were very kind and helpful. Playground right across the road for the kids!
Great hotel for families: good sized rooms, private baths, buffet restaurant, all in a decent location right in front of the pirate boat cruise. Amenities in room are decent enough and the food managed to satisfy my picky teenager, toddler and mom. Not a place I would pick for a romantic get away, but it was perfect for our purpose.
Very baby friendly - high chairs and little kid friendly cutlery and plates in the restaurant, plus a crib in the change rooms and baby seats in the onsen so your little one doesn't crawl away while you wash up.
