Charitha and his family were great hosts and extremely attentive to all our needs (ready to go above and beyond). The food was delicious, the room was large and clean with an air conditioning that worked almost too well, there is a seating area in the garden from which you can hear birds and witness monkeys walking along the electrical wires. The property is walking distance (30 min) from Owagiriya Natabun Viharaya (Buddhist temple ruins) and as we were on our way Charitha kindly gave us a lift, as well as to another destination later during our stay. Both the father and mother are absolute sweethearts, and are more than happy to sit down with you for a chat (I had a little well needed Sinhalese crash course). From what I can see they are building more rooms/bungalows and a restaurant in the back, but as of February 2025 it truly had that quaint local feel I look for when I travel.

The hotel is close to a nice beach and within walking distance of the tourist centre. There is a shop and very good restaurants nearby.

Babar Point offers 6 private and spacious bungalows with a large terrace and a view on the swimming pool. Each air-conditioned bungalow is equipped with free WiFi. Big thanks to Katherine and Michelle—we absolutely loved it here! The room and garden design is super stylish, and they really pay attention to all the little details. The restaurant food was great—we ended up eating there for three days straight! :) They also work with a taxi company that’s very reasonably priced and super reliable—honestly better than PickMe. We used them for the rest of our trip around Sri Lanka. Just a heads-up: the sea right outside the hotel is a bit rough, so it’s not the best for swimming. But the pool is perfect, so definitely go for that instead!

I am incredibly impressed with the outstanding customer service at this establishment. While traveling for work, I had to take public transport and required a very late check-in at 4 AM. Many other places either refused me or tried to charge for two full days, even though I was only staying for a few hours. In a last-minute decision right before boarding my bus, I booked this hotel and explained my situation. To my relief, they immediately agreed to my request without any hesitation or additional fees. When I arrived in the early hours of the morning, everything was perfectly prepared for me. The place itself is lovely, with a unique touch: each room has its own private outdoor seating area complete with a sofa, table, and even a ceiling fan. On top of all that, the location is fantastic, right in the heart of town, making everything easily accessible by foot. I can't recommend this place enough, especially for their wonderful hospitality!

Swiss Bay is perfectly located right at the start of Arugam Bay’s main street. From the balcony, you can spot the elephant viewpoint where an elephant usually visits in the mornings and evenings. The beach is just a quick 2–3 minute walk across the road, making the location absolutely ideal. We stayed in the corner room with an L-shaped balcony, and it was just amazing. The room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with all the facilities you’d expect from a top-notch stay. Even the bathroom stood out — we genuinely loved it. Everything matched the pictures and description perfectly, so you get exactly what’s promised. The caretaker and the owner were both incredibly warm and helpful, making us feel at home right away. They even allowed us a late checkout since our shuttle was leaving at 1 pm, which we really appreciated. On our last day, they treated us to a banana shake that was absolutely delicious — such a sweet gesture. If you’re considering booking this place, don’t hesitate — go for it! We’re already certain we’ll be staying here again.

The hosts of the hotel were simply the best people. They helped me book a night bus from Colombo to Arugam, stayed in touch with me 24/7 until I got on it, constantly checked if I needed anything, and truly cared about my comfort.

Very nice homestay and good location for a Kumana National Park safari, which can be arranged by the host Rosie. Also, good access to peanut farm beach and walk distance to the rock. And the breakfast, lunch, and dinner of Rosie is the best.
