It is an amazing experience. Situated right on the edge of Wilpattu National park these minimalist cottages provide an authentic feeling of oneness with nature. The srilankan cuisine served every evening was a curated menu of traditional Srilankan dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Served under the starlight the lantern lit dinners were highly enjoyable and very relaxing. The main reason we would always choose wildhideaway wilpattu to stay and safari with is its owner Mr Anto. His inimitable passion and dedication towards wildlife and photography is inspiring. He keeps himself aware on the animal sightings to give those who safari with him a greater chance of of catching a glimpse of these majestic creatures. On our safari we saw, leopards, elephant, sloth bear, hyena, python, crocodile and several others. The stay was simple comfortable. The rooms have been thoughtfully and sustainably designed. Tea and breakfast can be had while relaxing on the verandah. The stay at Wildhideaway Wilpattu taste of the raw beauty of Srilankan wilderness the memories will last us a lifetime.

From the room windows we were able to spot animals like monkeys and squirrels, and we saw plenty of birds in the area as well. The staff were AMAZING. Super helpful and nice, always available for questions and explanations about the wildlife. We booked the safari tour from the hotel and it was great decision - they provided us with great food and we were accompanied by Shantha, a guide from the hotel, who was friendly, professional and thanks to his knowledge we were able to see two different leopards in two different days. We recommend asking for the tour with him.

We initially had reservations about staying in the heart of the jungle, anticipating potential challenges. However, this concern was quickly forgotten—the location is absolutely amazing and incredibly close to Wilpattu National Park. The glamping tent itself was spacious, well-made, and far exceeded our expectations. The food was a major highlight; it was the most delicious food we had during our entire trip to Sri Lanka. We especially appreciated that the chef took the time to discuss our dietary needs, ensuring the meals were prepared exactly to our preference. The evening was capped off perfectly with a delightful BBQ around a bonfire. Our safari was particularly lucky and impressive: we were thrilled to spot two leopards and an elephant. we suspect the smell of our cooking meat might have been the attraction! Overall, the proximity to the park, the high standard of comfort, and the exceptional culinary experience made this a truly remarkable stay.

The property also offers accommodation for disabled guests. Staff was very Kind and room was nice and clean. Meals we're good traditional food and almost too much. The organized Tour to Wilpattu was reasonable priced for a full day Tour.
