This was a lovely and well-kept family-run agroturismo just minutes from Castiglione della Pescaia. The building is new, modern, impeccable, clean, with lovely landscaping and outdoor spaces, gorgeous scenery from our windows. Our breakfast was extensive featuring sweet pastries, ham-cheese paninis, fresh juice, yogurt, toast with olive oil, as well as eggs and espresso to order. The owners were friendly and attentive - even though they didn't speak English and we unfortunately didn't speak almost any Italian, they were patient to communicate via Google Translate and simple words and gestures to ensure all our needs were met. The rooms contained a bed, plain chair, small fridge, fully equipped bathroom (with good plumbing! the best for all our stays in Italy!) and plenty of wardrobe space. Because these are rooms rather than apartments, they do not contain an in-room seating area nor kitchenette. The restaurant is typically only open June - September (presumably when the garden is in full swing), but we were fortunate to enjoy a lovely multi-course traditional Italian Sunday lunch alongside a large family celebrating a confirmation that was delicious. Even though you're close to town, you're in the country, so it's very quiet at night, mainly just the night birds. :) Nearby tips - While in the area, we particularly enjoyed the Medieval City walk in CDP as well as dinner at Osteria del Mare già Vòtapentole (our best dinner of our whole Tuscany trip - delicious seafood!), as well as a trip to the National Maremma Park (we only did the beach but it would've been lovely to rent bikes and explore even more of the trails, too), and the Etruscan ruins by Roselle. (Save yourself some headache driving around CDP looking for parking amidst the maze of 1-way and ZTL zones in this small town by heading straight to the large lot by the water/harbor on Via Ponte Giorgini.)

Everything was just right: friendly owners, yummy breakfast, comfortable bed, quiet location and secure parking.

Poggio all’Olivo is a wonderful place run by wonderful people. Pier Paolo and Luisa make you feel at home and every detail of the property, the apartment, the location is just perfect. Our only regret is to have spent too little time in this home away from home.
