The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely lovely. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into a little slice of heaven. One of my favorite spots was the first-floor balcony with its cozy couches — the perfect place to relax with a book while listening to the birds. There was a small issue with the shower, but the host handled it with kindness and generosity. Upon checkout, we were given two complimentary bottles of wine, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Thank you for the warm and welcoming hospitality. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The room was clean, the right size, with beautiful view, bed was comfortable. The hosts are very friendly, kind and they prepare very good breakfast. They also prepare diner if you want - it was delicious! They use local ingredients. They also have their own very good wine. Great place to stay!

Located in Cividale del Friuli, in a historic building, 21 km from Stadio Friuli, Il Rifugio del Monaco is a farm stay with free bikes and garden. The rifugio, which is an ex monastery, is very well and thoughtfully renovated, and located a bit out of the town. We enjoyed staying in a really unique room which inspired us to think about the history of this place, their inhabitants, nuns and monks. The owner is very nice and helpful, she took time to show us the old church and explained the history of the property. Close to the monestary there is a wonderful, even mystical garden full of lavandas, rosemarin, roses and other Mediterranean plants. Also the breakfast was delicious and served in an antique dinning room. Everything was super clean. We spent wonderful time in the rifugio and if comming back to Cividale, we will definitely choose again to stay here. If you like historical places and like to try something unusual, this place is worth trying.
