Argini was a last minute hotel booking for me, my wife and my parents. It had only recently opened, so obviously there can be some trepidation, but the whole hotel experience matched the website. The hotel is incredibly elegant - taking a beautiful neoclassical building and modernising it. The end result is beautiful - the fixtures and fittings of the rooms were first class. The hotel was small and boutique in size, and this meant the service was very personalised, and all of their recommendations were spot on - from restaurants to beach clubs. The food at breakfast was superb, with an excellent selection a la carte. We also ate there one night for dinner, and the food as exceptional as well - the fish was sourced from their choice of local fishermen, and for me, the local fish ceviche was spot on in terms of flavour balance of salt/sweet/heat, and that's not something you can always say about modern food in Greece. The hotel is family run, and I think this is reflected in the warmth of the service. All the staff were excellent and accommodating. We had a car and an added bonus was a private car park for the property - a rarity in Ermoupolis I think. The location of the hotel was fantastic. A few minute's walk from the town square and hall, a minute's walk to Agios Nicholas church and a few minutes walk to Little Venice where you can have a swim off the rocks if you like.

The studio is in a fantastic location with a commanding view over the town of Ermopouli and the wider bay. Beautifully designed and superbly equipped, it was an ideal base for a week on Syros! The hosts, Manos and Lora, were so kind and welcoming: Manos even gave us a free tour of the island for my wife’s birthday! And the cleaning lady came almost every day to tidy up and replenish the supplies for breakfast. So it was better than a hotel.

This property is a gem of a hotel. We loved the personal touches of design in the room and the incredible hospitality.
