What a beautiful place ! The garden, the house, the location, the outlook, everything was wonderful to look upon. The stillness, the sound of the birds and the temple prayers. The team were incredible - so helpful and lovely to chat with. We became close with them during our stay. The food was exceptional- I don’t think we’ve eaten so well before on holiday.

The mother who prepares breakfast is absolutely adorable — she cooks with such care, and her warm smile makes every morning brighter. The breakfasts themselves are delicious, fresh, and generous. The owner is a great bloke too — kind, genuine, and always ready to help with tips, directions, or just a good chat. If you want a stay in Ella that feels authentic, welcoming, and beautifully set in nature without being far from the action, Wood Palace is the perfect choice. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. We even faced a vehicle breakdown during our stay, and the team went out of their way to assist us with getting it repaired—something we truly appreciated. A special thank you to the chef for preparing the most delightful dinner and breakfast. The food was simply amazing. Cleanliness was also top-notch. The rooms and bathrooms were spotless and well-maintained, adding to the overall comfort. Everything about our stay was beyond perfect. The property was so special and luxurious, the staff were impeccable and the dinner was so delicious. The location is truly unique and I cannot imagine another place like this exists in Sri Lanka. It was the perfect place to just relax and enjoy some beautiful surroundings.
