Sumptuous breakfast, great pool, attentive staff (I could go on & on). Place has an Interesting (if depressing) history too. Entirely wonderful stay.

The James is located directly on the Flensburg Fjord, in the harbour city of Flensburg. Fantastic hotel with great spa, pool where you can actually really swim (and has a small outside part as well), saunas available to chill and relax, fantastic breakfast and dinner. Great luxury. Our room was also fantastic, on the ground floor. Possible also to jog alongside the water to Flensburg and back.

I found this hotel by chance using booking.com because I needed a place to stay for one night during a long road trip. What a pleasant surprise and a place to remember and perhaps revisit in the future.

This 5-star Superior hotel offers modern rooms, suites and apartments and an extensive spa area. It lies in its own beautiful coastal gardens in Dierhagen, overlooking the Baltic Sea. This is a fantastic hotel. The facilities are excellent. The sauna with multiple rooms as well as an outdoor one are very good. Its right on the beach which is perfect for walks during the day. There isn't much nearby, which is fine if you are looking for that.

The location is great. The room is very comfortable and cozy. The stuff is friendly. We liked breakfast a lot. We will definitely come back again!
