The Chequers is located just 7 miles from Oxford. The Chequers at Burcot had an excellent restaurant, with a delicious menu and wine list, set in a character filled, thatch-roofed building. Our room was spacious and comfortable, and the location was convenient for us. The owners (I presume) were very friendly and hospitable, and we were offered a welcome drink to enjoy by the fire, before dinner. Although our trip was for work, staying at The Checkers was a treat that made us feel like we were on a holiday. We liked it so much, we stayed a second night.
