The pool area is beautiful, with super comfy sunbeds, curtesy beach towels and a fantastic view. Very decent breakfast as well.

The attentiveness and professionalism of absolutely every staff member - is beyond imaginable. Ask something one day - the next day an absolutely different reception shift which you never saw - greets you like they know you for weeks and remembers everything you ever asked during previous days from different reception personnel. And no - there's no "let me check in the computer", they just know! Breakfast personnel - yes, they know what you like, from your previous morning there (and, BTW, breakfast until 11am is a great idea). Everyone speaks perfect English, everyone is always smiling. No idea what's the secret there, but this place is managed in an absolutely perfect way.

Very nice new hotel in the best area of Thessaloniki. 3 minutes from Aristotelous Square, 1 minute to the waterfront promenade. Walking distance from all the main sites. On a quiet pedestrian street with great restaurants. Lovely shops, cafes nearby. We stayed in the junior suite. The bed was very comfortable. The room was nicely furnished, with lots of room for our belongings. The shower, toilet, and sink were separated, which was very convenient as well. Our pet chihuahua was welcome. There were bowls for his food and water and some treats. The breakfast was very nice and served in the main restaurant. The service in the hotel and the restaurant was superb. We felt very welcome. I loved the warmth of the typical Greek hospitality. We were with our car and it was great that we could pull up to the hotel, have the staff help us with our luggage and then park our car. We highly recommend this lovely hotel and we will definitely be back.

We are appreciative of the staff’s efforts to attend to all our demands, even though we stayed during New Year’s and the hotel was fully booked and the crew was overwhelmed. The hotel is within walking distance to all the important attractions, good restaurants, shops and supermarkets are nearby. Good breakfast; a very impressive dining area, with all the display of ancient ruins underneath! Also, the parking is a huge plus, but I guess you have to book it in advance if you visit during the high season. Definitely will return!

We received welcome gifts and goodbye gifts. The manager came to ask how we are and he had a personal later from him in our last day. Little touches that made you think and be happy. We will definitely come back because our stay with this hotel was beyond any expectations.

The Excelsior - Small Luxury Hotels of the World is Thessaloniki’s one and only member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World, located right at the heart of Thessaloniki. Free WiFi is available throughout. The guy at the reception was so welcoming. He even gave us a really good room upgrade option which we gladly accepted. The room was facing the main street but it was so quiet. Also, you had the impression that they had a limited choice at the buffet breakfast, but, they also presented us with a menu of things you could order. The menu was rich and food was delicious. Greatly recommend the hotel.
