The location is perfect for exploring Matera, and the valet service made everything effortless. We left our car at their partner parking and were picked up directly, which made the whole arrival experience smooth and stress-free. Even though the hotel is relatively new, it feels like it has been welcoming guests for many years. That is a true credit to the management and the entire team, who were warm, professional, and made us feel so well looked after. The food was outstanding, the cocktails were delicious, and the whole atmosphere was romantic and unforgettable. Relais & Châteaux should be very proud to have Vetera Matera in their collection. We are already looking forward to coming back and cannot recommend it highly enough.

Regiacorte is one of the most elegant and refined restaurants in Matera. A stunning Lounge Terrace enjoys spectacular views of Piazza San Pietro Caveoso and the beautiful rock church of the Madonna dell'Idris. The whole hotel facility and how it was set up was great. Our room was so tastefully decorated and beautiful, the view from our patio was amazing. The breakfast was fantastic with a great choice of food. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location was excellent, so close to everything but quiet. Highly recommended.
