We were upgraded on arrival to a beautiful room looking directly out over the temples, simply stunning. Our room was really beautiful and spacious, and the staff so helpful. Pool was a great warm temperature, quite a change after experiencing many cool pools in Sicily! Finally the restaurant, Terrace of the Gods - we had 'front row' seats looking directly onto the temples and the food was outstanding!

Featuring a garden with a free outdoor pool, Doric Eco Boutique Resort & Spa is 2 km from the UNESCO-protected Valley of the Temples. This was a great base for touring around the Agrigento area. The main appeal for us was the private pool each room had. In summer, after a whole day off walking in the heat, relaxing in a pool with a bottle of wine and some snacks was the best. If it was winter, this would need less appealing. The room otherwise was very compact but clean and modernly appointed. Bed comfortable for us. The aircon is a bit noisy at night. We didn't have breakfast, instead we headed to local towns for coffee and cornetto. Are at the restaurant once. It was very good. But it's all about those private pools!

The Ashbee Hotel is an early 20th-century villa set in front of Taormina's San Pancrazio Church and 100 metres from the Greek Amphitheatre. Rooms offer unique views. It was amazing! The hotel is fabulous, within walking distance from the center of Taormina. The surroundings are beautiful, the beds are extremely comfortable, and the bed sheets simply the best! You must try St. George Restaurant by Heinz Beck, the only 2-Michelin-starred restaurant in Taormina! What an experience! Each dish was carefully created and the flavors were just wow! And the staff — the staff makes it all! Thank you to all the personnel for the care you offer to each guest, for the smiles, and for your professionalism. Diana, you have my heart! The room was styled beautifully with classical modern elegance; easy to use, effective and cosy lighting; very comfortable bed and linen and a fall range of thoughtful amenities and extras such as a beach bag and daily stocked free (non alcohol) minibar. We also had an incredible culinary experience at the 4-table only fine dining restaurant BATU which is an experience not to be missed! This is a fully immersive experience in which every team member plays a key role to deliver something unique. Virginia at guest services went over and beyond to help organise transfers, specialist tours and dining experiences. The hotel is an easy 10 minute walk from the main drag, but the hotel organises transfers in case you don't feel like the walk. The hotel also organises beach club access for a minimum fee should you wish to have a day at the beach. We will be back for sure. Thank you for looking after us so well.
