We loved it, it was so elegant, nice to find a touch of glamour as so many modern hotels are rather dull. La Gemma delivers 5* quality from dawn to dusk. Nothing is too much trouble the staff are amazing, especially Gian Luca the hospitality manager, and Boldo the mixologist, made incredible cocktails for us. The food was out of this world, truly worthy of a Michelin* in my opinion. Beautifully presented plates and sleek service in the beautifully designed restaurant LUCA's. Even breakfast was a gourmet affair, with everything cooked fresh to order from an impressive menu, they catered for my gluten-free diet brilliantly. I had the best Eggs Benedict on the planet. All in all, La Gemma personifies Florence...glamorous, and beautiful, where one visit is never enough. We will be back.

It is 400 metres from Florence Cathedral and its seasonal rooftop terrace offers spectacular city views. The hotel made my stay much better. The room was fabulous got cleaned two times a day, the reception gave a free upgrade.

There was a courtesy Champagne bottle in our room and a hand written letter to welcome us. A free tote bag and an umbrella as gifts. At the check out they gave us a nice gift with a bottle of truffle oil. They really take care of the details.
