The staff was very kind and attentive. The food was a bit pricey after adding all the taxes and service charge, but it was really good.

If you want to have a authentic Avuyeda experience and get to know Sri Lankan hospitality, this is definitely the place to go! The team of Villa Velmarie is just amazing, very friendly, helpful and always smiling. There are not many words needed to understand that the whole team cares with so much passion about all guests. There are only six room, so that you feel like becoming a member of Velmarie family. During my stay they were only three other guests, so that the atmosphere was just perfect and so nice! All treatments by my therapist Chaturani were excellent! The flower bath and the Shirodhare were my favorite treatments. The massages and oil treaments are wonderful as well. The cook prepares fresh and very delicious Sri Lankan foods, which she serves with a big smile. The manager tries to fulfill all wishes and helps to organise taxi rides and trips. The garden and pool area is very clear and beautiful, thanks to the great gardener who works all day. The cleaning lady provides fresh towels whenever you want and keeps everything nice and clean! The yoga lession is a perfect start of your day. Highly recommend to go there!

The hotel is new, which is very important here, so no smells, fresh rooms and new white linen. Incredible personnel - all my requests were served immediately ❤️.

The initial welcome felt like we were royalty. They handed us some local sweets followed by wet towels and welcome drinks. The staff engaged with us with a lot of warmth. The value for money is excellent. The breakfast lay out is beautiful with good taste and a huge variety. The resort design is amazing with a lot of local and Dutch design elements. The pools were warm and felt just right. Overall we really really enjoyed our stay there.
