Recently awarded as Europe's Leading Design Hotel, the luxurious Vine Hotel is located in Funchal and offers a fusion restaurant with stunning views, a Wine Therapy Spa, and a rooftop infinity pool. The staff including Managers were very pleasant, accommodating and spoke perfect english. We travelled with our family of seven using 3 rooms. The breakfast was fantastic offering, cereal, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, coffees and my favourite freshly squeezed orange juice to name a few items. Our rooms were very comfortable and spacious. Separate large rooms for both the toilet and walk in shower. We had a great view of the sea port where the cruise ships were docked. The Vine has the best location in Funchal and is an easy walk to many attractions. This was my second visit to the Vine.

Set within extensive gardens of various subtropical trees and a banana plantation, Quinta da Casa Branca - Small Luxury Hotels of the World features a boutique hotel and an elegant manor house and... The whole atmosphere is of quiet friendliness; it’s charming. The garden is captivating, the pools are inviting. The restaurants are very nice, delicious food is presented in a lovely manner, and the service is attentive and friendly. The bed was great and our room was very comfortable.

Casa Velha do Palheiro Relais & Chateaux is a 5-star manor house hotel situated in the old Palheiro Gardens in the foothills of Funchal. We loved the hotel’s rural setting, high above Funchal, its old world luxury, and the quality of service offered by the staff. Best of all was the direct access to the extraordinary adjacent Palheiro garden. A very special hotel.
