We enjoyed our breakfast. What a great variety of fresh and tasty foods. The service was outstanding and the staff and owners were so friendly and caring, we felt part of their family. The atmosphere and setting in the courtyard for breakfast and dinners were exceptional, providing the right ambiance to enjoy a sundowner (cocktails), dinner and so peaceful to enjoy an early morning cuppa coffee/tea and a hearty breakfast. I give the setting, breakfast/dinner/staff and management at 5/5 rating and a chef’s kiss.

Grande Roche Hotel offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and an outdoor swimming pool. Grande Roche deserves every one of its 5 stars. The Legacy rooms in what used to be the old coach house of this historic wine farm have been refurbished, are spacious, tastefully decorated with modern touches, and very comfortable. Welcoming touches such as complimentary wine from the estate, chocolate chip cookies, coffee/tea machine, milk (not creamer) were much appreciated. The gardens on the estate were lush and immaculate, the sparkling swimming pool area with spa was an oasis in mid-summer, and breakfast, lunch and dinner on the verandah with a view across the vineyard to the Paarl mountains are an absolute treat. All this enhanced by every single staff member who went out of their way to make our stay as special as it was.

Built in 1713 and located in historic Stellenbosch, this hotel offers cosy rooms with classic décor. It also features a spa, a pool and free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel. Breakfast was executed well, the staff made me feel welcome and secure as a lone traveler. The room and bathroom were spotless and it felt like home away from home. The location could not have been any better for exploring the beautiful town.
